Journal Assignment 7

Journal Assignment 7

Q Summary: After listening to the lectures, doing the reading and watching any video(s) for that week, in response to the following prompts, provide numbered and dated journal entries: for example, “Journal Entry 1 - January 11”. To receive full credit, each journal entry must demonstrate thoughtful and detailed engagement with all elements of the prompt. Resist the temptation to turn in the same writing for more than one assignment. Journal entries are meant to be a “quick, rough draft” of your thinking. On related discussion questions and eventually on your paper, you should show that your thinking has become more deep, nuanced, integrated and clear. Journal entries must be typed and follow APA formatting. No title page or abstract is required. Cite any references on a references cited page. Journal entries must be turned in electronically through Moodle by Sunday at 11:59pm. 7.1 In Chapter 8, Scazzero discusses six primary sources of power (2015, p. 244-246). Illustrate each source of power from your life. 7.2 What is a dual relationship? Identify a person with whom you have a dual relationship. Describe the dual relationship. Is one side of the relationship dominant? 7.3 How did your family of origin handle endings? What about Scazzero’s writing could give you a new perspective on endings and new beginnings?

The six primary sources of power are- positional power, personal power, “God” factor power, projected power, relational power and cultural power. We often exercise our power without understanding where it comes from. Positional power comes from a place of position and power, which I have faced when I was given the same. I exercised it well without bias or exploitation. Personal power comes from personal gifts and talents, for me it is my talent and skill, my education and opportunities that have been given to me. God factor power comes from leading the faith in various ways like being Christian leaders. Thus for me whenever I have done a similar activity, it has given me power.
